Like Water provides yoga instruction in the Raja-Hatha (“Royal Path”) style, a combination of meditation and physical posture (dhyana and asana). The Sanskrit word yoga translates to “union” or “yoke”, and a Raja-Hatha practice yokes together discipline of mind and body.
A Raja-Hatha practice takes between 60 and 90 minutes. The practice centers around Sun Salutations A and B, with an emphasis on holding each posture for three to five breaths. A practice can also include meditation, breathwork (pranayama), balancing postures, and a 10 to 15 minute sound bath to close the practice.
